Mararul verde se curata, se spala si se taie in bucati mai mari.
Faina dizolvata in 100 ml apa se amesteca cu untul topit, se fierbe la foc moderat, amestecind continuu pentru a nu se forma cocoloase. Se adauga smintina, otet, supa de oase, zahar, sare, marar si se continua fierberea circa 15 minute, la foc moderat.
